First Day Of School...

Hard to believe but my babies started pre-school this morning.
It was odd getting up and packing lunches.I thought to myself that these two lunches are the first of thousands to come!
When I woke them up they were grumpy until I told them it was time for school , boy they got so excited!
They happily ate all their brain food(breakfast)and were anxious to get dressed and leave.
We went over the food in the lunch box and explained how to open different items .I could barley get the lunch boxes into their back packs before they had them on already!
Dropping them off was a breeze , they could not have cared less about me leaving.
Gage and I did a little Wal-Mart shopping then home to housework.
I was a little sad driving home without all the usual chaos..
When I picked them up they filled me in on their day. They had a wonderful time and even made sure I knew they sat at different tables because they wanted to!
The teacher sends a daily folder home with us that shows their behavior and contains the work they did that day.We initial the behavior box and sent it back the next school day.
It was wonderful looking at their practice writing sheets!
I am so glad they are having a good time and learning too.
I can only imagine how fast this year will fly by and it will be time for kindergarten before we know it..

Visit From The Tooth Fairy...

Yes that's right, last night the Tooth Fairy came to our house for the first time.
Alex was super excited about leaving her tooth under the pillow last night so we made a big production of it.
She asked me too if the Tooth Fairy was really real.I simply told her that she was just as real as Santa Claus! Shawn and I got a good laugh out of it and she had no doubts.
After she fell asleep Shawn exchanged her tooth for some Littlest Pet Shop. She did not want money , just those Pet Shop toys.
This morning she was ecstatic when she found them!
Austin is now telling us all how he was awake and got to talk to the Tooth Fairy! Interesting....
He is also very excited now about loosing his teeth!

Day With Nana..

Today the kids and I had a fabulous day with Nana.
We took the kids to the Omni theatre and saw Deep Sea , then we went to the hands on children's exhibits in the museum.
The one word for the Omni was "WOW"! It was so awesome!
I was wondering if it would be as good as I thought it was when I was 10 but it was even better.
I was so happy to see they still had the helicopter ride at the beginning.
We sat on the first row in the lay back seats and it was so cool.
During the helicopter ride Gage was laying there and clutching the sides of his chair! You could tell he was really feeling like he was flying.
We will be back again very soon.
After the movie we headed to the children's exhibit. The kids had a lot of fun running around playing. They especially enjoyed the different science experiment tables and the kids grocery store.
To end our trip we took the kids for ice cream.
It was a wonderful outing but Nana and I are exhausted now!

Meet The Teacher...

Tonight I took Austin and Alex to meet their new teacher and classmates.
They had been very excited about it all week. The teacher and class were big hits! They instantly starting playing and making new friends.
Of course I volunteered for every class party , activity and field trip!
I can not wait to see the new things they will learn.
My babies are getting so big.It is so hard to believe they are in pre-school.
This will be a wonderful experience for the whole family...

Super Stars!

Tonight was Alex's first practice with her"girl" soccer team.
She was so excited and it really showed in her practice.
I was grinning ear to ear while I watched her! I know I am her Mom but she just impresses me with how she soaks things up.
She enjoyed being out there with the other girls and being part of the group.
At water breaks she would run over , grab a drink and would run back as fast as she could. She was always the first back on the field! Very into what she was doing.
She was thrilled with the team name too...The Super Stars! How fitting!

6 month check up...

Today I took the kids for their 6 month teeth cleaning and check up.
Everyone did so wonderful! I could not be prouder of Gage.
Last time we barley got the exam done , there was no cleaning because he would not hear of it.
This time he laid back just like the big kids and got his teeth cleaned and his exam done!
Everyone and myself included were amazed and very proud!
We do have some bad news to report though.
We took another x-ray of Alex's damaged tooth and this time there is an infection in it.It is unfortunately a large one too and its between the dead tooth and her adult tooth. So on Monday that tooth is going to have to be removed. Not fun! I feel so terrible she will have to go through this. They will get her a light sedative , Valium , and do it while she is semi-awake but will not remember a thing. Its important we do it right away because we do not want the infection to compromise her adult tooth.
So say a little prayer for her.
The bright side is she will get a very good visit from the tooth fairy!Get ready to shell out big Daddy, this is a special circumstance!

Awesome!!!!

After the dentist I took the kids to the park to have a picnic and play.
When it was time to go feed the ducks the kids were ecstatic! They had been looking forward to it all morning.
Well the ducks were across the creek in the shade so we threw in a few pieces to try to entice them to getting in the water. We were not expecting what happened next..Out of virtually nowhere came very large turtles! We decided to keep feeding them and it went crazy.I am not exaggerating one bit either , there was at least 50-75 large turtles in a feeding frenzy over the bread and biscuits! It was so awesome! A truly fabulous sight and a wonderful experience. The kids thought it was amazing and laughed and screamed with excitement the whole time.
I am thankful the ducks were lazy because that just could not be beat!

Accidental Fun!

Where Austin practices soccer there is a little spray park ( that I wished I knew about at the beginning of summer!) right by the field.
It is a fenced in area and at the time was turned off.Alex and Gage decided to go play around in there while Austin practiced.Shawn and I liked the idea too since it was close to us and fenced!
About 10 minutes into playing we heard screams, very excited screams followed by belly laughter. When we turned around the spray park was in full swing and the kids were soaked!
Somehow they figured out which post turned it on but it was by complete accident. They were shocked! Shawn and I had a big laugh! I went ahead and let them play in the spray park fully clothed for the remainder of Austins practice.Of course when he was done he wanted to go too.So at the end of the night we stripped all 3 down and they rode home almost naked. They had a blast! Next practice I am bringing swim suits...

Sharks!

Thursday was Austin and Kylers first soccer practice. They met their coach and teammates and all the kids decided their team would be called The Sharks..
I forgot Austins ball on the counter so the start of practice was a little rocky. He kept wanting his ball and he had to take turns and use other peoples.Bad Mom! I will not make that mistake again.
After a few warm up routines he really started getting the hang of it.He and I are very excited and looking forward to the next practice , with his ball!

Funny Dads!

Tonight after swim class we had some play time in the yards. The Dads tried to teach the kids how to jump rope.Of course not a one of them are old enough for that coordination yet.Even if they had been the poor kids were never given a chance to practice because their Dads hardly gave them turns to try! They kept"showing" them how to do it.It was hilarious watching them play like little girls! Little girls with beer that is!

Dam You John Edwards!

I was so blind sighted by the admission of his affair. I may not have agreed with his position but I really liked him as a man and a husband.I thought he was a great guy and a very genuine one too but of course he turns out to be just like every other politician.
How sleazy do you have to be to cheat on your wife , the mother of your children who has stood by him and helped him in every aspect of his life , not to even mention all the while fighting terminal breast cancer! You sleazy sleazy dog..And no we don't believe you , of course the kid is yours!
Just when I thought you could not humiliate your loving wife any more , a love child!
I once admired him now I find him disgusting....

Ready For The Pro's!

This morning the kids completed soccer camp.I am so proud of these three kids ! They all worked hard every day and really soaked up everything the Coaches were telling them.
They each got a t-shirt and a certificate of what skills they had learned with a personalized note from Coach Gail.
I recommend the Challenger Soccer Camp to everyone! These Coaches were OUTSTANDING! Their first soccer coach will have some big shoes to fill in their eyes because they were really fond of them.Austin and Kyler told me on the way home how much they already missed Coach Ed.
This experience was fabulous for Aunt Taryn and I as well.It filled my heart everyday to see those kids learning a new skill and truly enjoying the moment.
We are all looking forward to the start of soccer this fall!
WAY TO GO AUSTIN,ALEX,and KYLER!!!!!

She has got the fever!

For soccer that is...
Alex is really loving soccer camp and told me she wanted to play on a team with girls..So I made sure she knew it was just girls and Kyler and Austin would not be on her team..She understood and was actually excited that it was just going to be girls..
So I got lucky and there were 2 more spots open so we signed her up.
This fall is going to be nuts with both their practices , games, plus Alex's regular dance and gymnastics every week.
Oh well , they are excited and that is what makes me happy!

Soccer Camp..Day 1..

This morning was the first day of soccer camp. The kids had to get up at 7am,that is WAY early for them.Once they stopped complaining they soon got very excited!
The first day went great. The kids learned all kinds of fun ways to kick the ball around.I can not say enough about the whole British Soccer organization. These coaches are awesome with the kids.
They are already pumped for tomorrow..
