Day 4!

For those of you who don't already know , Shawn and I quit smoking! We are on day 4 and going strong! We are taking the new prescription
Chantix , its a little pill that really helps get over the cravings.
I could not be happier! I feel like a better person already , especially a better Mom to my kids.I have much more energy during the day and I don't stink like smoke anymore! I have been drowning myself in all my Bath & Body Works now!
I know I have quit twice before but it was much different.I quit because I was pregnant so I did it for the kids health. Now I am quitting for myself because I want too.It really is a great feeling not to be tied down to going to have a cigarette. You would not believe how much time out of your day that smoking takes away.
I have been watching what I eat because I do not want the weight gain you get with quitting! I am 1 size away from my pre-Gage body , thanks to Curves , and I am not going to mess that up!
Shawn has been crankier than me , in fact I have not been cranky at all.
I will keep everyone updated on our progress! Thanks to everyone for the encouragement.

Fun In The Sun!

We spent the afternoon with Nana and Paw Paw and we sure had a great time. Gage loved playing in the shallow end ,we tried to put him in his boat but was very upset when his feet could no longer touch.Austin however was a little fish! He rode in the boat , swam with Dad and even jumped several times from the waterfall. He had a blast with the water today.Alex who usually does too got injured early on..She stumped her toe! So every time we would ask her to swim with us she told us she could not because she was hurt! Even worked over Paw Paw and had him carrying her everywhere! She can really play people!
Earlier though she had a great time having their traditional water gun fight with Nana and Paw Paw.
They had a surprise waiting when we arrived.Their very own picnic table with umbrella! Paw Paw and Daddy even ate lunch there too!
We had a great time as usual but are wore out from the sun and playing.
Gage started to get fussy on the way home and we were in the truck so no toddler tunes to rely on,we thought we were in for a nerve racking ride home when all of the sudden Daddy put in Pink Floyd and he instantly stopped! He listened without another word the rest of the way! I was shocked , Daddy was proud!

Mom and Dad Were Right..

You can't have nice things with toddlers! Boy did we learn that the hard way.Our house is only 9 months old but as you can see the playroom carpet is now blue. After 6 months of potty training and random "secret" trips to the fridge while Mom was busy , the carpet had to go!
It was so so bad people! The room smelled like toddler pee thanks to Miss Alex during her learning phase.
So Thursday afternoon on a whim (Shawn hates my whims!!) I pulled up the carpet and padding and bleached the concrete!
Then I replaced all the padding and bought indoor/outdoor carpet! I figure this will serve the purpose until that room is back to being our office then we plan on putting tile down.
The kids of course think its awesome that they know have blue floor.Me not so much! I was up till 1:30am finishing. At least it doesn't smell like pee!!

Mothers Day!

What a wonderful Mothers Day I had!
First we met Nana at the mall and we had our pictures done. They turned out great .Then Daddy took the kids for a drive so Nana and I could do a little shopping. We had a lot of fun shopping. We have not been to the mall together in a very long time.
Daddy surprised me with a 1/2 carat diamond circle necklace! It is so beautiful!!!!!
After that we went to Gran and Papas. The kids had a great time in the yard with the pool.Gage had so much fun with his cousin Megan! He absolutely loved her! He would smile every time she came around. He even played nice! He only pulled her hair a few times and that was it.For those of you who know Gage you know he can be a bit mean so it was a nice change. He was on his best behavior for Mothers Day!
Papa is looking great and getting around with much more ease than before.
We got Gran a gift certificate to a local spa for an afternoon of relaxation and she really loved it.
Now we are wrapping up our day with some much needed couch time.
It truly was a wonderful Mothers Day!

Visit To Mimi's!

Friday morning we loaded up and headed to Oklahoma to see Mimi.We all had a great time and a wonderful visit.
Mimi's house sets on about 2 acres ,the kids had a blast racing each other and running around the yard.We even got them a little swimming pool since the weather was so beautiful.Gage was in awe of her cats! He would stalk those cats using his caveman walk! Too funny!
Aunt Teri came over and the kids love her so they had a nice visit.Mom played spa lady with her foot detox machine. It is an awesome invention! She loved the one she got at a center so she of course purchased her own machine! The machine releases toxins from your body out through your feet! It was soooo nasty to see the water after each person! My water was so brown it was almost black!Weird....
We only stayed one night but it was great to see my Grandma and Aunt. This is only my 2nd time back since my Grandpa died and I thought it would get easier but it doesn't.You can feel there is something missing with him gone.It does not seem right that he is no longer in the place he always was. Before we left I went to put some stuff up in the shop and bam,his wheelchair and crunches. That hit me really hard and put me in a bad mood for the ride home.Just ask my husband!I suppose it will always be hard.I can honestly say though that the more time passes the sadder I get about it and the more I miss him.I think at first it was a shock now its reality and that can be hard at times.
Okay , enough sad stuff! We had a great trip! Now we are all resting up for our big Mothers Day!I already told the twins they had to be nice to me tomorrow! HA

Dinner Party!

Tonight Nana,PawPaw,Aunt Taryn,Uncle Kyle,Kyler, and Mandy came over for dinner and a little playtime in the yard!
The kids had a blast in the pool!Gage was more of a loner playing in the dogs water and then in the mud puddles created by the pool.He just sat there and splashed in the mud by himself for a long time!Mandy was content hanging out in Uncle Shawn's arms, she actually preferred it!
The older kids enjoyed the ball toss with Nana and PawPaw.
Austin finally got on his big swing with help from PawPaw.We were all very proud of him.
Bath time is over and the kids are still going strong.Bed time is nowhere in sight right now!

Another ER Run....

Yesterday Austin woke up with a 102 fever. He felt really bad all day and did nothing but lay down or sleep.Last night about 8:30pm he was really lethargic and burning up.I took his temp with the forehead thermometer and it beeped and said HI HI HI!! I got worried so I grabbed the stick thermometer and took it under his arm.It was 104.3!!! So I got the Tylenol and 30 seconds later he threw it up.We tried again about 10 min later and he threw it up again. So at that point I called the Dr.
They told me I needed to bring him to the Children's Hospital right away. They said anything at or over 104 with vomit needs to be check out right away.So Daddy got Austin dressed and in the car while I threw on some clothes.
We got there about 40 minutes later and as soon as we walked in I knew we were in trouble. There was not 1 empty seat!
The triage nurse gave him some Tylenol and we went in search of a place to camp out.About an hour later he was asking for chips! I took him to the cafeteria and he ate chips and was just chatting away.Sure enough his fever had broke.I was thinking about going home at this point so I went to talk to the sign in nurse.Just as I walked up another Mom was asking her how much longer it would be because they had been in the waiting room for 8 hours!! 8 FREAKING HOURS!!!
That sealed the deal for me! We were out of there!
He is doing much better this morning. He had another fever spike about 3am but the Motrin brought it back down.So far so good this morning. Now I am just praying the other two do not catch whatever it was.
Gage is the only one left without an ER trip under his belt.Gee , I wonder when that will be????
