Donuts With Dad..

This morning the twins school had a Donuts with Dad day.
The twins were super excited all week about Shawn coming to school with them, and even talked about what he should wear too!
Shawn said it was a really cute event and the kids had even made presents to give to their Dads. They ate donuts together and had juice and coffee.
I am so thankful Shawn got to be a part of it and even more thankful that he is the kind of Dad that would not have missed it for the world.

Valentines Party..

Saturday night we had a little party for the kids to celebrate Valentines. We had pizza, crafts , a game, and exchanged valentines.Of course they all ate a ton of chocolate!Papa and Gran showed up and gave them their Valentine goodies before their friends arrived.Gage hid his candy in the closet before any other kids came over!
The party was a great success, the holiday is really a lot more fun when you make it solely about the kids!

Super Stars!

The Super Stars had their first practice for the upcoming spring season tonight.Alex and I both were very excited about soccer starting again! It was fun to go see the people who had come back and meet new ones too. This season 4 girls from the original team are back and then we have 4 new girls.Alex jumped right in and picked up where she left off from the fall.
Austin starts his practices next week.Life is about to get a lot busier and I couldn't be happier!

101....

Today was the schools 101st day of the year so the kids dressed up like a Dalmatian.
They sent home some black felt last week and I got serious hand cramps cutting enough spots for 2 dogs!
They looked so cute though and they were very thrilled to see their classmates looking just as silly.
Today was also their class field trip to the Post Office. Austin said it was"awesome".They learned all about the mail delivery system and even mailed some of their valentines.
It was a fun day at school today for sure!

Mama B..

Early this morning Shawn's Great Grandmother, Mama Baechtel, passed away.
We celebrated her 101st birthday with her this past January. What an amazing thing to be present at someones 101st birthday!
As many of you know shortly after the twins were born Shawn and I were extremely blessed to have lived in her home. That simple act allowed me to afford to stay home with my babies. That home will always hold a special place in my heart. In fact I loved that old house a hundred times more than the brand new one I had moved from. And it didn't even have a dish washer!
We are all very blessed to have known her , she will be missed.

Special Night...

Friday night Shawn took Alex to her first Daddy/Daughter dance. She has been so excited about this and could not wait for it to finally be the day of the dance! Friday during the day it was all she could talk about , she even called Shawn to remind him about their date that night. For the past week she had been curious as to what Daddy would wear and bugged him and I about it a lot!
She was very excited while she was getting her hair done and made sure no one saw her dress until she was finished. She looked so precious! I was so very proud seeing the two of them all dressed up for such a special night together.
I was told that they danced , ate pizza , and participated in a limbo game.Daddy and Alex both said they had a wonderful time.I am so grateful to have such a great husband who is an even more wonderful father to give her such lasting memories.

King Cake...

Our neighbors arrived home from visiting their relatives in Louisiana and brought us back a traditional King Cake..
We explained as best we could to the kids then we sliced it and they were very excited to see who would get the toy baby in their piece..Turns out we couldn't find it! We tore it up and still no baby.Austin was convinced Bri had eaten it and desperately wanted to take her for an X-ray! Awe , already wanting to play Doctor.Man they grow up fast!

Not Just For The Kids....

This ride on Gator helps Shawn and I too! Notice the back loaded with bags and of course beer.We were on our way to our Friday Wii night with our friends and Gage helped us out by taking all our stuff in his Gator for us.It was hilarious watching him drive the neighborhood with a 12 pack in the back! Good thing our neighbors all know us...
