Fall Party..

Today was the Fall Party at the twins school.Since I ,along with another Mom, are the room Moms we got the great fun of planning and executing the party today.I am not being sarcastic either , I really had a blast doing it!
We did cute little witch's hands that were popcorn and candy corn inside of clear gloves and of course some tootsie roll pop ghosts as well.
It started with all the kids painting their own pumpkin.I laid the pumpkins outside to dry while the other R.M. read them a Halloween story. After that we did the pin the nose on the pumpkin then cupcakes.
When the kids were pumped full of sugar we played a Halloween themed bingo game. They all really enjoyed that !
While I did clean up they got to hear another story before it was time to be picked up.
They all got to take their witches hands, tootsie ghost , balloons and a goody bag home that the teacher gave them.
The party was a hit and we are already planning their Thanksgiving party!

30....

Yep , I turned 30 today. It's an odd feeling turning 30.I remember thinking (what didn't seem so long ago) that 30 was old but now that I'm here it doesn't seem so old.
I am actually glad to be out of my 20's and into a more settled down way of life for my new decade.
It's a miracle I survived my 20's! Now that in itself is a special celebration.
My day was really great. It started with my kids telling me happy birthday and they were more excited about it than I was.Shawn was sweet and brought us home tacos for lunch. The florist arrived and my Mom had sent a beautiful basket of fabulous flowers with 30 balloons! The kids went nuts over all the balloons.
We ended up letting them all go in the house so they were playing all kinds of games with them.Their favorite was who could get their balloon to float all the way up to the sky light. That will bring more fun when they finally fall and they can play"volley ball" with them.I think at least half of them ended up outside. They thought it was awesome to watch them float out of sight.
Tonight after I dropped Alex off at gymnastics/dance I met Taryn for a wonderful and extremely fattening birthday dinner at Babe's and had chicken fried steak with a whole bowl of gravy..YUMMY!
After dinner we headed to the Dollar Tree then onto Wal-mart where I got the kids their winter crocs. They are really cool, if you haven't seen them they are non holy crocs with fuzzy socks built in. They loved them so much they all refused to take them off and are now sleeping in them!
The day has truly been great. The best part was getting to talk to all my family who called to wish me a Happy Birthday. Thanks everyone for a fabulous birthday...

Halloween Festival...

Sunday after church we all headed to Grand Prairie for Gran and Papas annual Halloween Festival in their neighborhood.
The kids got all dressed in their costumes and we walked to the festival.
There were costume contest ,lots of games for the kids to win prize tickets, and lots of cookies and cupcakes! None of our kids won the contest ,although with the judges being Grand Prairie Firemen you would think one of the boys would have at least placed! Ha!
After we cashed in our tickets for goodie bags we headed back to Gran's for hamburgers on the grill.
We spent the rest of the night enjoying each others company while the kids wore each other out.It was a great Sunday with family.

Girls Night...

Friday evening Mom , Sandy and i headed south to the beautiful Beaumont Ranch for an overnight stay and spa treatments.
Thanks to Erica this was my second time getting to stay at the Ranch.I can not say enough about how great everything is down there.
We stayed in the Western Town in a beautiful room.It was like Green Acres because you would not believe the room by looking at the outside!
We started Friday night with a fabulous fish fry down at the barn.Taryn came out and joined us that night for diner and the 4 of us had a blast just chatting and laughing.
The next day we were up and off for manicure , pedicure , massage and facials.
They were all so wonderful and very relaxing.
It's a shame it ended so soon.
We are planning on going back for the Friday night fish fry soon so we can take the kids. There are bounce houses , mini golf and even mechanical bull ridding to do after dinner.
Awesome place all around..

Grandparents Day...

This morning the twins class had a Grandparents breakfast.Papa and Gran made the drive to be there with the kids first thing this morning.
They had pancakes and gave them cards and crafts that they had made for them.At the end Mrs.Linda read a story about Grandpa's to everyone.
It was truly a great morning! It was very special to have them there for the kids this morning..All night last night the kids were so excited about the breakfast this morning.
There was only 1 other Grandpa besides Papa who came , the rest were the Grandmas. That just shows how special it was that he came for them.
Thanks for making the twins day Papa and Gran , we love you.

Saturday Fun...

Saturday we got to spend some time with Nana.First we all went to Alex's soccer game then Nana took us to Peter Piper Pizza.
For those who don't know its similar to Chuck E Cheese.
The kids had a blast of course.
We had pizza then they each took their cups of tokens and ran all over the game area.
Gage's favorite was the basketball because I put him in the game to shoot!
We ended up with about 400 tickets so it was off to the dreaded prize counter.
Trying to get 3 kids to decide what they want that is within their ticket range is a nightmare.
It seemed like we were standing there almost as long as we were playing games!
After 4 novelty items a piece were picked we were outta there.
The kids are already talking about going back tomorrow..Like that's going to happen..
Thanks Nana for a fun Saturday.

Halloween Party!

Friday night we had a little Halloween party with the cousins and Brianna.
We all had a great time!
We started with pizza and cupcakes then moved onto fun Halloween activities.
First we drew numbers for pumpkin picking, then the kids "designed" their pumpkins for the Daddies to carve for them.
That was a lot of fun! All the Dads outside digging in pumpkins while the kids supervised to make sure they carved their designs just like they wanted.Of course they added their own touches in there so they would actually look like Jack O Lanterns.
While the Dads finished up the kids painted their own Halloween mask.
Afterwards we played pin the nose on the pumpkin. That was fun! Austin won but I swear he could see because he pinned it on the exact spot!
The highlight of the night was the lighting of the pumpkins.I can not tell you how excited these kids were to see their pumpkins light up! It was really a lot of fun just watching and listening to them talk to each their about their pumpkins.
Thank you to everyone for coming , we had a fabulous time.

Crazy Pumpkin Lady....

Yep that was me tonight at Wal-Mart...
I was shopping tonight for 7 pumpkins. If you have been to Wal-Mart lately then I am sure you have seen the 12 or so large bins full of pumpkins outside the store.
You would think with all those pumpkins to choose from finding just 7 wouldn't be hard , wrong!
I was climbing inside and digging in these things , muttering and cussing a few times to myself.I am positive to an on-looker I was indeed labeled the Crazy Pumpkin Lady tonight!
I finally found 7 decent pumpkins for the kids.
Why 7?
Well Friday night we are having a get together with all the cousins and Brianna to do some fun Halloween stuff.
We will be painting Halloween mask , playing pin the nose on the jack o lantern and designing pumpkins. The kids will draw their design on their pumpkins and then the Daddies will make it come to life by carving what they drew!
I am really looking forward to it!
Please feel free to compliment me on my pumpkin selection when you see them!

Story Time...

This mornings theme was colors for story time.
The kids really got into pointing out the different colors in each of the books.
I had told Gage before we even left the truck to sit in his seat and not to play musical chairs this week.Well he took me seriously because when he decided to get up and move he kept his chair on his butt and walked around to find another spot! I guess next week I need to be a little clearer.
I got tickled at Alex at one point because a little baby had started to fuss and she turned around and loudly told her to shhh!
To go with the theme their craft was making necklaces out of fruit loops. This was a very big hit!
Gage was eating his while threading it.Alex would alternate eating and threading.
After they were done and we put it around them they were thrilled with munching on their craft.
I have to say that Mrs.Susan is such a wonderful person.I found out today that she is actually a retired teacher and she does this strictly on a volunteer basis.I always assumed she worked for the library. It takes a special person to do that.I can only hope my kids are lucky enough to get those type of teachers when they start school officially.
Next week is the Halloween party so the kids get to wear their costumes! Fun Fun!
