Fathers Day at the Lake....

Sunday morning we met Nana and Papaw at the lake for a cookout and some jet ski fun.
The kids were in heaven being at the lake! They each rode the jet skis countless amounts of times. Those kids LOVE those things!Gage started refusing to get off when we came in so he got more rides that way!
Austin was my little dare devil , he wanted to ride the tube so bad so I let him with Shawn...I thought for sure when he came off in the water he would freak out but nope he laughed and wanted to keep going again!
We spent 6 hours swimming and riding the jet skis and we had a blast! The best thing of all is watching my kids develop a love of the water and the outdoors..
It was a fabulous weekend full of family..

Fathers Day with Papa....

On Saturday we started the day at Grans family reunion. We had a nice lunch at Pappadeaux then our family headed to Papas for the day.
Gran had an awesome play area set up for the kids and they wasted no time jumping in the pools and scattering the toys!
We had a nice visit then us girls decided to head on over to IKEA ...I had never been so it was a lot of fun! Aunt Cathy and Ashley were in town and we had a great girls outing complete with dinner at The Cheesecake Factory.
The kids played and played and were not ready to leave a 8:30pm when we started the loading process.
We could not have had a better family day with Papa..Thank you Papa for showing Shawn through your example how to be a great Dad.Your an even better Papa too!

Weekend at the Coast

Friday afternoon we headed out for a long weekend on the beach. Taryn's Mom ,Gwen, owns a cottage in a very tiny town on the bay and was super generous to let our family come and enjoy their little paradise down south..
Saturday we went to a wildlife refuge that is actually only 6 miles from their home.It was very exciting seeing all the animals in their natural habitat. The kids had a blast searching for the animals! Our favorite though was the Mama alligator and her 11 babies, they were truly fascinating.
There is a park across from the house so the kids took advantage of that while we relaxed on the porch in big rocking chairs.
Sunday we visited a beach in Rockport and spent the day swimming and playing. The kids as usual had a blast in the water..Most of us ended up with major sunburns but it sure was fun!
All 3 nights Shawn and Kyle fished till 4 or 5 in the morning so Shawn was very happy to get in all that fishing time. One night he actually saw an 8ft. alligator entering the bay! He said he did a triple take on that one! Austin,Kyler and Gage went fishing with the guys before dinner Sunday evening and all caught fish too.Austin and Kyler even reeled in their own!
Thank you to Taryn, Kyle Gwen and Oliver for sharing their secret hideaway with us , we had a great time.

Summer is here!!

Its official , summer has arrived and its time to swim! Today was the kids first class of the summer. We are repeating level II to refresh from last summer then moving onto level III in July.
The kids did an awesome job and I was so proud to see them go under the water!

VBS....

The kids started Vacation Bible School this week...They are having a blast and can't wait to go back each night!

Austin.....

Nope not my son but the city ....Shawn was a groomsman in a good friends wedding that was in Austin this past weekend..Shawn's parents were also there as well and we ended up getting the share their 1400 sq ft suite with them at the Hyatt! Thanks Dad , it was AWESOME!!!!
The whole weekend was great..we relaxed with no kids and even went to lunch at the very place we went right after we were married , The Oasis on Lake Travis...The view of the lake is beyond words , it was a perfect little outing before the wedding Saturday night..
The wedding itself was beautiful and we all had an absolute blast!
Kyle and Taryn picked up her sister Emma afterwards and we all hung out..I vaguely remember being in downtown eating pizza from a walk up restaurant at about 2am...Awe , good times!
It was great to get away and even greater to see my kids after a weekend apart..

Training wheels are gone...

Tonight after dinner the twins learned to ride without their training wheels! It really didn't take as long as I thought it would..I must admit though,it was hard letting go of that seat! It took me awhile to let go.
They are still learning the take off part but they are doing awesome! Training wheels are in the trash! My babies will be 5 soon , they are truly growing up..

Backyard Fun..

Sunday evening we had some friends over for dinner and the kids took advantage of the hot day...Well as you can see so did Shawn!

Bee's!!

At our Church service the kids sang a song for us.It was WAY cute and I was a super proud Mama!

Church Picnic

This year I organized the Church's annual picnic and it was a great success!
Everyone has a great time and the food was plenty and oh so good..Fried Chicken and home made ice cream..Need I say more??
The Percifields hosted at their home and it was so beautiful. They own a lot of land here in our town and donated some of it to our Youth Association so we could have fields for baseball and football.
The kids got treated to rides on an antique fire truck around the land and the guys took advantage of their beautiful pond and went fishing..
It was a great afternoon shared with good people and good food!
