Whirly Ball!

Wow,what a game!
Some friends of ours along with Papa,Gran,Kyle,Taryn,Jeremy and Kevin all went to play Whirly Ball to celebrate the twins upcoming birthday.
We had a wonderful time.
There was so much trash talking, cheating and down right physical beatings going on and it was fabulous. We all had our fair share of taking some pretty hard hits too. And no Dad, I swear I was not out to get you! HA!
At one point during the game Kevin busted through a pair of side doors VERY loudly.I thought I would pee all over my car because I was laughing so hard!
We ended up playing an hour and a half total.I can feel every minute of it in my muscles today. Our friend Christy even has large bruises on her hips! Shawn has marks from his seat belt cutting him too.It was wild! We will be doing that again without a doubt!
Thanks to Mom who took these pictures for us and cheered us on.

Birthday Dinner....

Saturday night Papa and Gran took the big twins and Taryn and I out for our birthday dinners. All of our birthdays are within a month so it works out great. It was so nice to have a nice dinner with everyone without the kids!We can all really appreciate simple things like dinner out now.
We went to Benihanas and it was fabulous! Since we were going out later for the big twins birthday we let them have the spot light and the birthday song sung by the wait staff to themselves.HA!
Thanks Papa and Gran!

Soccer Saturday!

Yesterday was a great day for soccer.
Gran,Papa, and Grammy Gwen came to cheer the boys on.
The Tiger Sharks game was a bit controversial! We had a ref who was asleep and the other team was bigger and meaner than ours for sure.Lot's of illegal aggression going on.The Dad's were so fired up from the combination of the two they did not even keep score. Shocking!
Never the less our boys did well and they had a great time on the field.I'm so glad Austin has found a sport he truly enjoys and works hard at.
After we all had lunch at Bueno we killed some spare time at Kevin's before the Super Stars game.
Austin decided he would rather hang out with Kevin and watch Sponge Bob than go watch his sisters game.So he and Kevin had some quality male time while the rest of us went to the game.
I was super proud of Alex! She scored 2 goals! She is having so much fun and really getting good at the game.
Thanks to Gran,Papa, and Grammy for coming out.We all appreciate the support for the kids.

Flu Shots...

This morning I braved the pediatrician's office by myself to get all 3 kids their flu shots.
The pictures are of them hiding out in the waiting room chairs after learning what we were there for.
I tried explaining how the flu shot is a good thing but the word shot and good just do not go together for a toddler.
Once we were in the room Gage did great. He laid on the table and laughed. He cried only a little once he felt the poke..
Austin and Alex were a bit different.
I had to wrestle and hold down both kids while the nurse gave the shot.I feel like I should get some kind of prize for accomplishing it all! Yeah yeah I know , its my job...
Austin was a bit dramatic. He told me in the car that his shot almost killed him! Funny the things they say..

So at least the kids are done, now its mine and Shawn's turn.I am positive we will handle it better than they did!

Little Girls....

At least that's the way they act!
Austin and Kyler have taken over the phone at their houses.
If you call mine or Taryn's house Austin or Kyler will be answering the phone.
They are quick too! It's almost impossible to beat them to it.
Lately they have been talking to each other on the phone. They call call each other almost every night they are not at soccer practice together.
It is seriously a riot to listen to their conversations.
These boys are in BFF mode..Too cute!

Great Job!

Today Alex wanted to write so I put her name on the top of the page for an example to practice writing her name..I think she did an outstanding job! I am super proud of her but the best part was how proud she was of herself.(wiping a little tear!)

"Cousin Contact"

That was the term Kyle used to describe the boys soccer play.Kyler dribbled the ball and passed to Austin then Austin dribbled and took it to the goal! PERFECTION!

Alex's First Game...

This morning was Alex's first soccer game.
She did so good and we are all super proud of her.
It took her a minute to get the hang of the game but she was non stop once she did.
She even scored a goal!
Aunt Taryn , Uncle Kyle , Kyler , Mandy and Kevin were there to be in her cheering section. It's a good thing too because she was asking about them before the game! She knew they would be there , she was even telling me they were coming when i didn't know!
It was really a great day to see both my kids play soccer and have a blast with their team mates.
Thanks to everyone for being there!
GO SUPER STARS!

Sad Day..

It seems all is pretty much lost on Crystal Beach.I was told today that not only the house but the neighborhood is completely gone.I was studying the ariel photos today of the peninsula and its safe to say they were the hardest hit and suffered more damage than anyone.
My heart breaks when I think of how beautiful the towns were and how fabulous the view from our porch this summer.
It may be gone but the wonderful memories with my children will never be forgotten.

Crystal Beach

Words are very hard to find to describe how I feel about the destruction of such a beautiful town.
Our family had the great fortune to spend a week on the Bolivar Peninsula in Crystal Beach this summer.
We all fell in love with the town and the people there. It was such a quiet and peaceful place to spend time with your family.
I think about all the little Mom and Pop shops we shopped in and my heart hurts for those people.
I have such wonderful memories of the place and it makes me cry when I think about it being destroyed.
My Mom contacted the owner of the house we rented and he is unsure yet if the house is still there. He said he would let us know when he is allowed on the peninsula.I highly doubt it because the house was right on the beach. There was nothing to block those high winds.
There is no doubt that they will re-build.They can count on my family to vacation there again and help re-boost that economy.
My prayers and thoughts are with everyone on the coast but Crystal Beach you have a special spot in my heart.

Game Day..

Today was the boys first soccer game.To say it was great would be an understatement , it was fabulous at the very least!
It was so cool watching them giving it their all at the game.Austin really had a lot of fun and I was super proud of how hard he tried and how he kept going and never stopped trying to get the ball.
They were really just adorable out there running around in their new jerseys. They don't keep score at this age so technically we didn't win or loose.Of course "they" meaning everyone BUT Shawn and Kyle,so we won 14-5 according to them!!!
Next week Alex starts her season and their games are back to back.I just know I will be hoarse every Saturday!
Thank you to Papa,Grandpa,Kevin ,Nana,Grammy Gwen and Poppy for coming out to cheer the kids on.
I'm officially a soccer Mom!!!

Christmas in September.....Nana Strikes Again!!!!

Today I picked up a new swing set from Nana! She had wanted to get the kids this type of swing set the first time around but they were too young at that point.
I tried to get Shawn to buy it but NO WAY was that happening! So Nana came in and made us all happy! The kids get a swing set they love(our neighbor has this exact one so they know) and Daddy is not out any money ...
Shawn said we would put it together on Sunday. That ought to be fun , lots of four letter words will be flying for sure!
Thanks Nana , you rock!
