Puppets...

Austin has been asking me for awhile if we could make puppets.I told him the other day that one day soon we would make sock puppets..Well later that day I found a pair of his socks all cut up on their craft table. When I asked him what in the world he thought he was doing,he of course told me he was trying to make a puppet! I knew I better do something fast.So tonight after dinner we made our puppets..The kids really love them.Tomorrow we are making the stage!

More Boy Time...

After I picked Austin up from Nana's this morning I took him to Kyle so that he could go to the Ranger game with Papa , Kyle and Kyler..Austin had a busy social calendar this weekend!HA
From what I read on Papas blog the boys had a blast and poor Papa spent a fortune at the concession stand! They got lucky because today was free hat day too!
Austin and Kyler both have asked Papa since winter to take them to a game and he happily obliged.
Thanks Papa for the special day!

Boys Night!

Looks like the boys had a blast at boys night at Nana's!!

Saturday Fun...

Saturday was a lot of fun for the kids and I..Shawn went turkey hunting overnight and the boys went to Nana's for a boys night.Alex and I took full advantage and had a very special girls day.First we started with lunch at Jason's Deli so that Alex could have her salad, then of course shopping! I took her to Claire's and let her pick out a few new earrings and jewelery. Then onto the nail salon where we had pedicures.Alex loves to go get her toes painted , this time they are bright purple with a butterfly.
After all that we went to dinner with BriAnna and Christy before going to see the new Hannah Montana movie. We had some time to spare before the show so we went to Claire's again where Alex scored a few more goodies.
The girls loved the movie!
With Christy's husband hunting with mine , she decided to come over and we ended up playing the new Metallica Guitar Hero on the Wii while the girls made crafts.
I don't ever get many opportunities to have one on one time with my kids and its always so nice to just be focused and having fun with them individually.
It was truly the best girls day!

Surprise!!

Shawn and I noticed these strange plants coming up in my flower beds..We both could not figure out what they were , there are 3 total and in different places..
Well we figured it out..PUMPKIN VINES!!! I could not believe it! It makes sense though because at the Halloween party there was a total of 7 large pumpkins being carved right next to my beds..I just think its hilarious!
So maybe we will grow our own pumpkins for the next party!

Easter

Easter morning started with our whole family going to church. It was so wonderful to have Shawn with us and our friends Steven and Christy for the service.
After church we loaded up and headed to Nanas for lunch. She outdid herself as usual with a ham and all our favorite sides, complete with a carrot cake plus a pineapple upside down cake!
When we finished the kids rushed out back to find the eggs that the bunny hid.Papaw and Nana got them all fired up during lunch about "mysterious sounds" the night before!
They took awhile but they finally found them all.Austin was the one who found every ones big baskets! He was calling to Alex and Gage to get over there quick!
They played with their new toys and ate lots and lots of candy after the hunt.
We enjoyed a nice visit with Mikes Mom and nephew who were able to join us and we were all very glad they did.Nana gave us another perfect holiday, Thanks Nana!

Nottingham Easter...

This morning we gathered at Papa and Grans to attend the annual Easter egg hunt in their neighborhood.Gage did not want any part of the hunt at first but changed his mind just in the nick of time to gather some candy and eggs.It was so funny this year watching the older kids seriously run after the eggs. They were very much into hunting and gathering!
After the hunt we went to Papa and Grans house and visited and played for the rest of the day.The kids had so much fun running around the yard and being with each other.Gran got them all goodie bags that contained kites and bubbles ,so that was a little added outside fun bonus.I brought back the game Operation and the kids had so much fun playing. It was so fun to watch them giggle and scream when the nose would lite up and make the buzzing noise.
Aunt Erica brought the kids some green bean seeds and showed them all how to plant and grow green beans. That was a very cool idea , thanks Aunt Erica!
The day was absolutely perfect and the kids are so exhausted from non stop playing in the sun today.
Thank you Papa and Gran and Happy 40th Wedding Anniversary!

3 year check up...

This picture was taken in the Dr.'s office as Gage was hiding because he was not going to see the Dr.!
I got him out of the truck by calling Shawn and he talked to him while I was getting him all checked in.He said he did not want to go and he meant it too!
When we were called back he did not want to go to the room or stand on the scale but relented after a minute.Going to the bathroom to pee in the cup was a turning point. He thought that was pretty cool and his mood improved greatly! He was laughing , talking to the nurse and happily doing anything she wanted. When the Dr. came in he thought he was hilarious and even enjoyed his physical , laughing the whole way through it.I was amazed , this was so not the kid who dug his heels in and refused to come inside! Before we left he insisted on peeing in a cup again..
So the appointment went smoothly..Its funny too because ever since he was born he has always grown proportionately..His height and weight percentages are always about the same , interesting..
Here it is..
height..39 1/4 inches - 88%
weight..36 lbs. - 87%

Birthday on the Farm...

Today we celebrated my baby boy Gage's 3rd birthday.I am speechless that he is 3 now..Time flew by so quick.
We held his party at a local farm and it really was a blast!
I was a little panicked because of the 25 mph northern winds today but it all turned out wonderful.
There was lots to do for all the kids including, bounce house, petting zoo, pony rides, play ground, maze, and a hay ride. For the first few activities Gage wanted no part and kept going back to the thing he loves the most , tractors. That kid didn't care about a thing but getting on those big tractors! He has always had a special love for anything John Deere green,I like to think that's part of my Grandpas spirit that's living on through him..
After lots of cake and presents we ended the night with a big family dinner at Babes..I am beyond full but man it was delicious.
I could not have asked for a better party for my little man.

Blooming Bash '09..

After the dances we went to our church's annual Blooming Bash..
They went above and beyond this year..I was in awe when we walked into our family life center..They had games , 2 bounce houses, petting zoo, face painting, and an egg hunt! To say the kids had a great time is a big understatement, they had a blast!
After the 9 am soccer game , Alex's dance, then the bash,I am whipped. I am so ready for bed.We have got to rest up because tomorrow my baby turns 3 and its going to be a great day even though the weather will be cooler..

Rockin Robin...

That was the song Alex danced to this afternoon!
She looked so cute in her spring costume and I couldn't have been more proud of her.She took the stage with no hesitation and did her dance.Go Alex! She looked beautiful!
Mandy was a very big girl and took the stage for the first time by herself. We were all very proud of her..
It was a beautiful day too for an outside dance.
Before the show the kids got to meet the Easter bunny.Well all except Gage,he is still freaked out by all the holiday figures at this point!
