Cheap Family Day!

Gotta love that right??
Today they had $1 day at Lone Star Park so us , the kids and Kevin went for the afternoon.
Kevin and Shawn enjoyed the $1 bets and $1 beer while the kids had sodas and hot dogs.
It was great because everything was $1!!! Unbelievable!
The kids loved playing in the bounce house on the lawn while the horses were racing.
They thought the horses were cool but not too impressed.
Shawn and Kevin never won a single bet but we all had fun getting out and enjoying the day.

Relay For Life...

Last night I had the great experience in participating in the 12 hour Relay For Life. The walks purpose is to raise money for the American Cancer Society to aide in research.
There is simply no possible words for what an awesome event it was and I feel truly blessed that I was there to be a part of it.
Hundreds of people came together to honor their lost loves ones and to show support for the ones who are currently in the fight against cancer.
As many know we lost my Grandpa to lung cancer in late 2005 and now my other Grandfather is quickly losing his battle with colon cancer. This night was very close to my heart and they were my driving force to keep going through the night and into the morning.
I am currently working on 1.5 hours of sleep and my body aches more than I can even explain. Its not only tiresome but it hurts!
Thank you to my fabulous friends and family who sponsored me in the walk.It was because of you I am proud to say I raised $745! I am currently #14 of top participants for our area , that is AWESOME!
Thank you to Shawn and my Mom who supported me and gave me the encouragement that I needed to go all the way.
I will never forget this experience.

Tuesday Picnic...

The kids and I were going stir crazy so we went to the park today.
We packed a lunch and headed out the door!
Gage insisted on carrying his and Alex's lunch box.
Austin made a new friend in a green caterpillar , that is till it fell on him and he freaked out!Alex told me I was a good Mommy today.Today??? As opposed to???Not sure how to take that one!
We only stayed about 2 hours but it was a perfect cheap activity to get us out!

QT With Frankie..

While I cleaned Frankie's tank today Shawn and the kids spent some time with Frankie.
They would sit and wait very quietly until she would pop her head out then get major excited about it!
They had fun playing with her but she was much happier to get back to her clean home.

Sleep Over...

During our big Sam's trip the big kids conspired to have a sleep over.It is scary how good they are getting at plotting!
So of course since it was Friday we let them have their way so the twins went to Kylers and Mandy came here with Gage.
The little ones played babies and ate everything we just bought.
Their favorite was the large container of cheese puffs!
They both were asleep by 11pm so that was nice.
We just started letting the little ones sleep over and they really enjoy it.I think they were tired
of being left out all the time!

TA-DA!!!

Saturday after t-ball Mom and I completely made over my flower beds.
First we went shopping and bought all new flowers and shrubs.Thank God for my wonderful Mom who has an extremely green thumb and knew just what we needed.
After shopping at various places we finally got started and as you can see then result is fabulous! I am so happy with the little makeover. The shrubs and plants the builder put in had to go!
Thank you Mom , I really could not have done this without you.I know for a fact I would have only had 1 high dollar spiral juniper! HA

Chuck E. Cheese!

For Gage's birthday we decided to make it simple and just take the family to Chuck E.Cheese.We invited just the Grandparents , Aunts , Uncles and cousins.
All the kids had a great time running around playing games.
Gage was not even scared of the giant rat as Shawn calls him! I thought for sure he would be because of his immense distrust of Santa and the Easter bunny.
It was great for me to just pick up a cake and go , no prep work at all. I'm not sure I will ever have another at home birthday party!
2.5 hours later though and all the adults were mentally whipped. Its exhausting trying to keep up with your kids at Chuck E.Cheese on a Saturday! We even designated each kid per adult and it was still hard. After each kid traded in their tickets for toys we were out of there.
We ended the night with Kevin , Aunt Taryn ,Uncle Kyle ,Kyler and Mandy coming over and hanging out outside while the kids rode every battery powered vehicle we have and finishing off the cake in the driveway!
My birthday boy passed out hard.I cant believe my baby is 2!!
Thanks to our wonderful family for making his day special.

Gage's New Ride...

Nana and Pawpaw got Gage his very own off road vehicle for his birthday!
He would always steal the twins 4 wheelers at the pond so this was just perfect.
He was thrilled when they gave it to him and took the twins for rides. He even has his very own radio! After his party he took Mandy for a spin but first insisted on turning on his radio! He is in love with his new toy and we cant wait to take him to the pond!

Concession!

As an AYA parent we have to work the concession stand.Taryn and I had our turn last Saturday and tonight was the boys.We did not tell them how its run because we wanted them to get the full experience just like we did!
Well I have to say the three of them were doing great when we went for a surprise visit tonight.
Kevin was wonderful and volunteered to help us out and he was running that deep fryer just as good as I did and making the nachos.I heard Kyle calling him Nacho Man!Go Kevin!
Shawn was his usual salesperson self and was doing great helping people while Kyle was the master of the hot dog rotating machine!
The kids thought it was great that their Daddies made them hot dogs and handed out sodas.
They still have an hour or so left but I bet they keep up the good work.
Great job boys!
