Wedding....

Friday night we attended the wedding of a close family friend. My Mom watched the kids all night and we got a hotel room close to the wedding so we could party at the reception. And party is exactly what we did! We both had a fabulous time! We caught up with friends we don't get to see very often and we even danced at least 3 times! The wedding itself was beautiful and we are so happy for the whole Schuster family.
At the reception they had a photo booth that was awesome! It had props in it and the operator would stick a copy on a scrapbook page and you wrote a note to them on it and we took home a photo too.VERY cool idea....After the reception we went back to our room with Bob , Pam , Jason and April for some beer and tacos. We stayed at the new Marriott and it was very nice , we were very pleased with our room.At 3am we finally went to bed.It took 2 days to recover but it was worth it!

My Little Bakers...

Since summer started I have been letting the kids cook a special snack each week. Its been a really great experience for all of us..They get so excited and are constantly thinking of our next food project.Well today we did cupcakes ,at their suggestion of course..They all picked a different flavor of icing as well.
They did excellent breaking the eggs and using the mixer.
The decorating part was sure messy! I must have swept up at least a full bottle of sprinkles.
They were super proud of their cupcakes and so was I!

Picante!

Saturday night we had some friends over and had homemade pizzas and let the kids play in the pool.Of course at about 2am and after several adult beverages we all decided that Whataburger sure sounded good! I think all of you can relate to that!
Anyways Shawn and Steven wanted to see how much picante sauce they could get for their taquitos...Well they hit the jack pot with 1/2 a case! they were so proud of their accomplishment..Awe , good times....

Friday Fun...

Today Shawn took off work so we could play at the lake with Nana and Papaw on the jet skis...It was another fabulous day at the lake! Nana grilled some really yummy chicken and we had a great lunch. Austin did some more tubing ,he is getting better every time he goes out! This time we rented a little pedal boat for the kids to ride in the beach area and that turned out to be a great source of fun for all of them. The big boys skied ,tubed and TRIED to wake board!
We spent about 8 hours out there and we are all whipped right now but it was worth it.We cant wait to pack up and head out for another trip to the lake!

Fun night...

Last night Nana took me to one of my favorite places , Edelweiss German Steak House...We had a fabulous meal and we both left fully stuffed.
After dinner we headed to the mall and to my favorite store , The Children's Place, and Nana bought the kids some clothes to get a jump start on school clothes.I had a lot of fun shopping in that store! Austin has been asking to spend the night with Nana so Shawn met us with Austin and he got to come play with me and Nana for awhile.Nana took him to a little carnival that was in the mall parking lot and oh my he had a blast! He rode lots of rides and was in heaven just being with us with no brother or sister!Mom had arranged with one of the game workers for Austin to win a prize even if he wasn't strong enough to ring the bell with the sledge hammer but he surprised all of us and rung that darn bell! Go Austin! He picked out a giant sword for it and he still thinks that its awesome...
He had a real fun night being an only child for awhile..Thanks Nana for treating him and me too!

Splash Pad...

This week Nana came over and we took the kids to the splash pad.We had a picnic , played in the water and wrapped up our day at the park.I was exhausted by the time we got him! The kids had a great time and it was especially nice getting to be with nan in the middle of the week.

Cheer Camp...

This past week Alex went to Cheer Camp that was put on by the AHS Varsity Cheerleaders. It was for 2.5 hours a day for 4 days. She learned lots of fun cheers and even some stunt moves too.She is super excited about starting pee wee cheer leading this fall!

Twins.....

Twins is exactly what these boys think they are right now! After Kyler got his hair buzzed Austin decided he did want it buzzed this year too.So now they claim to be twins! I overheard them yesterday talking about how crazy it would be if I tried to take Kyler home and Taryn tried to take Austin home because the looked sooooo much alike now.seriously , it was hilarious1 So after telling everyone about it Shawn , Kyle,Taryn and I pretended they were the other..They looked at us like we had lost our minds , total confusion! it was priceless!

4th of July....

This year a group of us spent the day at the lake. The guys went ahead of us and set up a big canopy for shade and it was perfect. We spent the day swimming in the lake and then we cooked out burgers on a grill we brought. The kids were treated to the good ice cream from PawPaw Ted!
After dinner we swam some more and visited before the firework show. The firework show itself was fabulous again this year. The kids were all set up by the lake with snacks , drinks , glow necklaces, bracelets, flags and bubble necklaces!! They were having a blast!
They were in awe of all the fireworks ..
The holiday couldn't have been any better,it was truly an all American 4th of July!

Swim Time...

Even though my parents were gone they were generous enough to let us come and use the pool for some Friday family fun..We all enjoyed swimming and playing in the hot sun.It was only 104!
Alexis really doing great swimming on her own and all she wanted to do was practice her swimming with who ever would help her..Miss Mandy will be ready for her lessons because she was going under and doing fabulous trying to swim on her own...
We spent a few hours by the pool and it was a perfect outing for the day..Thanks Nana and PaPaw!

Zoo....

Wednesday we took advantage of 1/2 price day at the Zoo.My little cousins from Oklahoma have been with us this week so we thought the Zoo would be a great place to take them since they had never been before.
We had a great time seeing all the animals. It gets better each year we go because the kids are getting older and are really taking it all in and are extremely interested in all the animals. We had a picnic lunch and took our time going through all the exhibits.Of course they each had about 10 favorites for the day! My cousins were really thrilled because they had never seen those animals up close before.
After the Zoo we headed to the Omni to see the new movie , Bugs..It was really cute and it was another great first experience for my cousins as well..
It was a busy day but we all had a fabulous time..

Austin and Alex are 5!!!!

Yep that's right, hard to believe but the twins are 5 now.
Since we took the to Six Flags we just had a low key dinner with family on the day of their birthday..I fixed one of their favorite meals, tacos! Instead of a cake we had a sundae bar and oh my the things little ones will put on their ice cream! There were several"creations"!!!
We wrapped the day up by playing with sparklers after it was dark. The kids ended up burning over 120 sparklers!
It was a great night for the both of them....

Six Flags!!!!!

Instead of a big party this year , we decided to take the 5 year olds to six Flags for the first time. They were tall enough to ride almost every ride including some of the bigger roller coasters.I was amazed at these three kids, they absolutely loved all of it and kept wanting more and more. They were not afraid of one thing! We stayed for 8 hours in the heat and they never once mis-behaved , they just had pure fun.We were so blessed with an awesome experience.I think the longest we waited was 10 minutes one time for the Roaring Rapids , pretty much every ride we walked right into.
At 10:30 after the lights parade they were upset because the park had closed, they were wanting to go again!
The day could not have been any better and I have such treasured memories from their day.
