My Favorite Picture...

I can only imagine that conversation!

Memorial Weekend..

What a great trip! We went to the Chickasaw National Recreational Area in the Arbuckle Mountains to camp for 3 nights. The kids did a lot of swimming and we all ate a ton of roasted marshmallows the kids made.
We visited some beautiful cold springs and toured a Nature Center where all the kids became Junior Rangers.Let me tell you, they were proud of that badge!
Sunday morning we were relaxing by the water when my parents surprised us.We had no clue they were coming and we were even more surprised by what they brought us to play with , 2 new Sea Doos! Oh man we all had a blast! The kids were taken for countless rides and tube rides as well. The kids and adults all had fun.It was such an awesome feeling cruising the lake with just Austin..Thanks Mom and Dad!
Its always a little sad when we have to go home though.
I am so thankful that my kids love the outdoors as much as Shawn and I do.Now we need to think of next years location!

Saturday...

Saturday morning we spent some time in the rain! There was no lightning so Alex's game went on , so we all sat out in the rain for an hour..The bright side though was she played great and scored a goal from 1/2 field! GO ALEX! The rain agreed with her!
After drying off at home Alex was off to Brianna's for her much anticipated slumber party, while Austin got to go on his first turkey hunting trip with his Dad.
Austin has been wanting to go all season so it was a really big day for him.
They picked up Kyle and Kyler and from what I hear had an absolute blast and saw deer and hog while hunting.Shawn said the boys did great and they all 4 really enjoyed themselves,I was so happy for him.He even refused to take off his camo to go to bed that night because it was"so awesome"..Too cute!
Gage and I did a little bit of shopping then we met Nana and Paw Paw for dinner..
It was a great day even though we all split up after the game. Now I am very busy getting ready for our annual camping trip for Memorial day.So much to do but I am very excited!

Pre-K Graduation...

Well tonight was the big night,my babies graduated and received their pre-k diplomas. It really does seem like a few weeks ago I took them to their very first day..It has been such a great experience for all of us.The kids have learned so much and I feel blessed to have had such fabulous loving people to teach and guide my kids.It was worth every cent!
As for me ,I really loved being a room Mom.I cant wait to do it all over again, 3 classes though may prove to be challenging!
We filled up a pew tonight with both sets of Grandparents and Kyle , Taryn , Mandy and Kyler..It was a proud moment when the only kids who got big shout outs and woot woots when they received the diploma, was Austin and Alex! We have an awesome support system for our kids and I am truly thankful with all of my heart for that.
After the ceremony we of course headed for ice cream! We ate and visited ,it was a great way to wrap up our night.

P.S. Sorry for the awful pictures but the lighting was horrible.

Bunk Beds!

Shawn and Kyle put together the bunk beds this week and it has been a big hit! As you can see in the picture , all the kids love them. Its nice too because Alex has not come in to my room in the early morning hours since sleeping on them.Of course she still refuses to sleep in her own room , she must sleep with Austin. Its an interesting thing to watch them absolutely terrorize each other all day ( and fry my nerves while doing it!) but when its time for bed she is in there with him and wouldn't leave if I tried.
They have even worked out alternating who sleeps on the top each night..
So thanks Shawn and Kyle , its perfect!

P.S. You guys will of course get an update on who is the first to get injured from taking a flying leap!

Mothers Day Weekend...

I had an awesome Mothers Day weekend! We started it off with having Nana and Paw Paw over for dinner and play time..We just all hung out and got a chance to visit and play outside before the cold front came in.We never get to do that enough so it was truly a great way to spend some time with my Mom for Mothers Day.
On Sunday the kids and I headed to Church and Gage actually stayed in the nursery! I was so proud..Now maybe we can get Daddy to come with us since he doesn't"have to watch Gage".HA!
After Church we all headed to Papa and Grans where I left the kids and Shawn and took Gran for some girl time.We met Taryn and Gwen and had wonderful relaxing pedicures, did a little looking around in near by shops , then we went to Texas De Brazil for dinner.I of course stuffed myself on the salad bar and barley ate my meat again. That place really makes their money off me!All 4 of us had a great time and enjoyed visiting with one another..
On the way home Taryn and I stopped at Half Price Books and treated ourselves to some more books.
It was a fabulous Mothers Day Weekend spent with people I love,I could not ask for any better of a day ..

A Special Gift..

These words brought little tears to my eyes..Think about it...It's so true...

Everyday I am exploring
Touching everything Ive found
I leave behind my little marks
And hand prints all around

You clean up those hand prints
And someday when I'm grown
You'll wish you had just on
Hand print to keep for your own

I made this print for you
So that one day when I'm tall
You'll remember what my hand looked like
Long ago when I was small...

Muffins with Mom...

Today I had the great pleasure of going to the twins school for a special Muffins with Mom morning.
Shawn kept Gage so it could just be the 3 of us and it truly was special.
They had made all kinds of neat goodies for us and were very excited to give them to me.
It was a great start to my day!

Kindergarten Round Up...

Today was a big day for the twins , it was Kindergarten Round Up day at their soon to be school..
They were excited about going all weekend!
When we got there we were introduced to all the teachers,we go to Church with one of them.
Then two teachers took Austin and Alex by the hand and led them all around the school and explained all the rooms and activities. After the little tour I did all the paper work (times 2!) while the kids had their hearing and vision screened.
They were pumped by the time we left!
Apparently they didn't understand that school doesn't start till after summer because Alex threw a fit tonight when she learned she was going back to pre-school in the morning and not Kindergarten.
It was a great way to introduce them to their new school..

Picnic..

Saturday afternoon we went to Shawn's company picnic.WOW , that's about all I have to say..
They really go all out for the kids..Let me tell you..There was..3 bounce houses , obstacle course,a face painter, character artist, man who made any balloon animal you wanted, snow cone machine and of course a cotton candy machine!
Those kids had so much fun but who wouldn't??

Happy Birthday Kyler!

Hard to believe one of ours kids is 5 already!
Saturday we celebrated Kylers birthday at the Ranger game..
The weather was stormy at first so we did cake and presents over at Papa and Grans ..Finally though God answered our prayers and the weather held up long enough for Kyler to enjoy his party! All the kids had a blast going to the game and just being with all the other kids..
Good choice Kyler , the party was a hit!

Cinco De Mayo..

Friday night Alex danced at the local Cinco De Mayo celebration. The twins school was also having their carnival that night so Shawn and Kyle took the boys to it ,while Taryn and I took the girls to the dance..
The girls got to ride a few rides before the dance and even shopped for jewelery in the booths..Both of Alex's dances went well and she had lots of fun.
The boys had a great time at the carnival and all 3 came home with a bag full of candy!
It was a fun Friday for all..

Date with Mom..

Since Dad took Alex, I decided to treat the boys to a little outing as well..
First we stopped at Sonic for an ice cream cone ,then we headed to the park to enjoy the afternoon...It was fun just hanging with my boys..

Date with Dad...

Ever since Alex started watching TV her and Shawn formed a bond by watching any and every animal or National Geographic show on TV..
So when Earth the movie came out it was the perfect date for them...
Alex really enjoyed going to the movies with her Dad.They both told me though that they had seen it all before..Apparently a lot of it was cut from other Discovery shows they had watched prior to the movie...
I am so truly glad that they share a common interest , we will need it in the years ahead!
