Just Me And My Boys....

Alex is at a girls sleepover tonight at Gran and Papas and Shawn was turkey hunting, so it was just me and the boys tonight.
After Gage took a nap we loaded up and went to the video store.Austin picked out a Scooby Doo movie and Gage agreed with the decision.
From there we went to Target to get me a new printer to go with my new computer that will be here on Monday.SO EXCITED !
The boys and I had dinner at Chick Fil A so that they could play in the play area and eat ice cream.
After our bath we jammied up ,popped some popcorn and watched the movie.
The boys had a nice little outing with me and I enjoyed it too.It was much easier with just the two of them! The twins always behave better when they are apart!
I am glad for the special time we got to have tonight. Before I know it they wont want to spend anytime with Mom anymore.I will take it while I can.

Season 2..

Last night our second season of t-ball started. We have been practicing for a few weeks but this was our first game.
The kids were really excited to be back at the ballpark again. Its especially fun this year with Shawn and Kyle coaching.
The game was funny to watch. The team did really well and I was very proud of them.
Austin has improved a lot over last season. When he actually hits the ball, instead of the T ,he does very well! He is not buy any means fast but he is running.
The dug out is chaos as usual but everyone is having fun! Poor Gage wants to play so bad.Good thing Kevin came because he threw him balls and Gage would take a swing then run! Really cute stuff.
Great to be back.

Picnic With My Favorite People!

I knew when I woke up this morning that today was a day I was not going to waste. It was far to beautiful not to get outdoors for a little bit.
I told the kids if they would go play and let me do some things there would be a treat for them.Well they all took off happy to oblige!
That gave me some time to get some lunches put together.
When I was done I got them dressed ,they asked where we were going and when I told them Wal-Mart they were pretty happy. They seriously love that place!
I told them if they were good in the store I would take them to a picnic in the park.Oh boy they were so excited! The twins started yelling"we're good we're good"!
That did the trick ,Wal-Mart trip was actually pleasant.
We had a great little picnic lunch ,then we headed for the playground. The kids ran around and just enjoyed being out.
Before we left we went and fed the ducks. That was really a blast! They got the biggest kick out of throwing the bread and having the ducks come close. One big goose came and quacked at Gage and he was terrified! Yet he was chasing wild squirrels all over the park!
With the promise of ice cream we loaded up.I decided to swing by and get the boys a haircut first.Austin had no problems but Gage screamed , I mean loudly, the whole time .I felt sorry for all the people in that place and made sure to leave a good tip!
I thought a little outdoor play at Burger King with the ice cream would be a great end to our little trip.
Everything was going great for about 15minutes then it struck.
It started with Alex sliding down holding herself because she has to pee.I tell the boys to come down so we can take Alex to the restroom.Gage starts coming down but I noticed he stopped halfway down, squatted and started grunting. So I'm thinking ,great now I need to change him in the restroom too..While Gage finally starts climbing down again Austin has decided he cant climb up or down and I have to go get him.So I enter the tunnel the same time Gage is coming out. That's when I saw the diarrhea dripping down his leg! So now I have one toddler holding herself by the door , one dripping diarrhea, and the other refusing to climb down! I had to do a little multi tasking and clean up Gages drippings on each level of the play structure I had to climb to escort Austin out.
We finally made it to the bathroom and got back in the truck where all 3 took a nap on the way home.
The Burger King incident is just a little glimpse of how some of my days can be,its a completely normal thing to happen!
We truly had a wonderful time together today. I am looking forward to summer!

Easter....

This morning we headed to Nana and Papaws for an egg hunt and lunch.
The kids excitement was just hilarious! Alex would just scream every time she found an egg! It was really a fun hunt.
Of course the Easter Bunny left huge baskets for them to find as well. The kids were spoiled by the "bunny"!
Nana made a big delicious lunch and I am still full.
I have not been out to my Moms since New Years Eve so it was great spending the day with them.
We could not have asked for a better holiday weekend. We are really blessed with all this wonderful family around us.

Fun at Papa and Grans!

Saturday was Grans birthday and their neighborhoods annual Easter egg hunt.
We all gathered at Grans and then went to the egg hunt. The kids had a blast hunting those eggs! They were not the fastest collectors but were happy with the few they did get.
After the hunt Uncle Jeremy grilled us a wonderful lunch. The kids all played and enjoyed the bubbles that Gran had gotten them.
The afternoon was beautiful so we headed to the school park and let the kids play.
After dinner and lots more playing we headed home.
The day was beautiful and we all had a great time relaxing and enjoying the day with our family.Happy Birthday Gran!

Day At The Stockyards!

Today we took the kids to the stockyards to see a little cattle drive.
We sat outside and had a BBQ lunch while watching the cattle drive. There was not many cattle but the kids were very impressed with the longhorns and Cowboys!

Lots Of Fun!

After the cattle drive and lunch we started our stockyards walk.
The kids had a great time seeing the longhorn up close.Alex thought it was cool but from a distance!
When we got to the Indian and horse the kids were very excited. The man was very nice and let each of the kids sit up there and take their picture.
They all thought that made them Cowboys from that point on!
As you can see Gage and Mandy played it cool and relaxed on the stockyards tour. Those two are too cute in that picture!

Petting Zoo!

I can not begin to explain how much fun the 3 big kids had in this thing!
I thought for sure they would be at least a little apprehensive but no way. Those kids went right in there and feed those goats and sheep out of their hands and even petted them.
At one point Alex fell and all these goats just descended on her! Luckily Daddy pulled them all away by their horns. Not even that phased her.
Gage and Mandy were not to sure about it and were content just being held.
Gage and Kevin are best buds and he was stuck to him like glue in that pin!
Those kids thought it was awesome.Seeing them have that kind of fun was great for the soul.

Detour!!!!

After the petting zoo we decided to take a little walk around the stockyards.Instead of turning around we decided to take a detour.HA! Detour my butt!
We walked to the other side of the cattle chutes and somehow got in the actual chutes!
I just knew some big longhorn was going to be around the next turn.
We finally ,after much walking, sort of figured a way out.
We had to go through an iron revolver but the wagon would not fit.Gage and Mandy refused to get out of the wagon.Their Daddies had no choice and lifted them up over their heads wagon and all! You should have seen those two faces when they were in the air! Priceless.

Mom Was There Too!!!

After taking some cute pictures of the kids I got in a picture too!
As a Mom your always taking the photos .
I think years from now it will be nice to actually see Mom with the kids instead of just Dad!

Poor Kid!

What you are looking at is Austins lips after he literally ate his left side bottom lip!
Wed.morning we went and had his cavities filled.Dr.Julie said he did so awesome and got a little high off the laughing gas!
The trouble started on the way home. She warned me that until the numbness wore off that I needed to watch him closely because kids that age will bite and chew their lips but not know they are doing it,she also suggested a milk shake since he could not eat for awhile.
Everything was going great and we even went to Wal-Mart on the way home to get him a new dinosaur movie for being so brave. This kid is so into dinosaurs right now!
As we drove home I checked on him a few times(his car seat is directly behind me so its not so easy) and he was happily drinking his shake.Well when I opened the door to get him out he was covered in chocolate and blood!
Throughout the day his lip just got so big and reached its peak about dinner time.
I talked to the Dentist and took him back today and sure enough it was all caused from him chewing on his lip while it was numb. She gave him a round of antibiotics to take as a preventive measure because his wounds are very open and there is just so much bacteria in your mouth.
He told me it hurt this morning but the Motrin took care of it and he has not complained about it since.
It really looks painful and hideous, the Dr. said it would go through several color changes until it was completely healed. My heart breaks for him every time I see him.
Kids are so resilient though. They really do handle injury or sickness better than adults!I think he is digging all the attention too!

Carnival!

After the movies we went to a little carnival in the mall parking lot.My God it was expensive! The cheapest rides were $3 a kid ! There was not much they were tall enough for thank God!
The ones they did ride though was worth every cent we spent for those smiles!
This one helicopter ride was great because they did not know it was going to "fly " ! I loved their smiles when they were lifted in the air and were flying! I would have gladly paid double for that.
Aunt Taryn and I joined them on some twirly ride and let me tell you I thought I would fall to the ground I was so dizzy!
It was the perfect adventure for our special big kid outing!

Movie Date!

This morning Nana,Aunt Taryn and I took the big kids to see Horton Hears A Who!
What an awesome movie!
I really enjoyed it myself too.
All 3 kids thought the movie was wonderful. They of course thought the popcorn and sodas were just as great!
At dinner all 3 of them told us several different scenes that were there absolute favorite parts to the movie!
I just love taking them to the movies. It gives me and them some much needed special time together.
When Gage gets old enough for the movies I will have to think of another activity for just the twins and me.They are turning into these awesome little people and I have so much fun getting away from things for the afternoon and just enjoying them.

Busy Day..

Our day started this morning with t-ball practice.I was so proud of Austin today,he ran the bases! He never runs to first but today he gave it all he had and ran instead of walked to first!
After practice we had a McDonald's supplied picnic in Aunt Taryn's drive way..
We did not get to stay long because we had to run home and get dressed for my cousin Sandy's parents 50th wedding anniversary party..
The party was very nice.It was an open reception at their church. It was great to see other relatives I never see and my cousins , Sandy's kids, who I used to spent many summers with. My Aunt and Grandma even drove down from Oklahoma.
The kids had a blast running all over the church with all the little kids. When I told them they were their cousins they didn't really believe me..In their minds cousins are your friends who you see at least once a week! How lucky those kids are.
After the party my parents , Aunt,Grandma and us went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner.
The food was good but WAY overpriced. My little dinner salad was almost $10! Seriously for that price it should have been a meal salad WITH some fried chicken in it!HA
For our family of 5 it was $100! The kids even split one meal!
Next time we spend that much money its going to be on my favorite porterhouse at Del Frisco's!
I had some things to drop off to Aunt Taryn so we wrapped up the evening by playing there for awhile.
It was a busy but really good day.

Beautiful Thursday!

Today was gorgeous!
We headed out this morning and did some clothes shopping. The kids were semi well behaved in the store so I treated them to some play time.
We stopped at chick fil a for some picnic supplies.Since they did do a little screaming in the store they got chicken and fruit cups while I got the milk shake and fries! HA! I deserved it!
We took our food to the park and had a nice little picnic and chatted.
The kids played on the playground for over an hour. When we got home we did a little coloring on the driveway and had popsicles. It was a great day and it leaves me very much looking forward to summer.
