Giving Thanks...

It is easy for us all to forget how truly blessed we are to have healthy children until we hear of another parents own nightmare.
This morning on the way to take the twins to school I was listening to a local radio show and they are having their annual fund raising for their own charity,Kidd's Kids.I am sure most of you know about the program but I will explain for those of you who don't.
Every year around Thanksgiving Kidd Kraddick and his morning show take a certain number of families to Disney World who have a child with a terminal illness. It is an amazing trip for all involved and its been going on ever since I can remember listening to the radio .Today is their big fundraising day all over town. Its the people of the metroplex through their donations who fund the trips each year and have come through every year.
This morning they had a single Mom on the show who's daughter was on the trip last year.Unfortunately her little girl died after a long battle with Lupus a little over a month after returning home last year. They had played an audio clip of that little girl and it was so overwhelming to the mother to hear her daughters voice again that she could barley speak. She told everyone how much that trip meant to her , her daughter and her son, because as a single working Mom she had never been able to take her kids anywhere and now they had such a wonderful memory of her daughters final months.
Tears of course were filling my eyes and listening to her story just broke my heart.
It just makes you stop and thank God right there that I have a healthy family and I pray for it to remain that way.
I encourage everyone to click the link and donate even just $5 so more children and their families can have that experience. They said this morning that the majority of the trip each year is not funded by large donations but by many donations of just $5.
Everyone count your blessings and if your fortunate enough then give some back.
